GBOT is an application for data collection of experimental plots.
With GBOT, your team of field technicians can digitize plant phenotypic information of the plots at the time of the determination in the experimental field, making the monitoring and control of the trials easier.
GBOT allows verifying where the data come from (experimental site and plot), knowing which technician carried out the task and when it was done, standardizing phenotyping determinations and adding images and comments to the determinations.
The app is a complement of the GBOT website.
The GBOT system in action:
CREATION OF CROP SEASON
The first step is to create a work crop season on GBOT website. The user has to load trials introducing the following information site, crop, sowing date, number of plots and material sown in every single plot
After that, user has to create tours of field trials, stating which traits are collected in each tour. Then user has to specify the responsible for collecting data in every trial.
DATA GATHERING.
During the crop season, its time to collect data. To start gathering data from trials, technicians have to download the plot map from their smartphones. Each field technician can only download trials on which he/she must collect data. Field technicians can choose different modalities of tours, upload his/her phenotypic determinations and add picture to the work.
WORK CONTROL
The person responsible for data collection can closely follow the phenotyping work from the GBOT website. He/she can visualize the progress of activities and identify errors reported by field technicians, throughout the entire growing crop season.
EXPLORE DATA AND EXPORT IT
Finally, by taking advantage of the analysis tools on the GBOT website, the user can explore the collected data and export it to continue working with other data analysis programs.
